It’s My Story
In Medusa’s story, she is betrayed by the gods to whom she devoted herself. I decided to picture her taking control of her own story and her own life by shaving the snakes she was cursed with off her head. I wanted this piece to show empowerment in people, especially women, labeled as victims. I want this piece to be a reminder that, even though the worst things happen to us, it’s always our story and we always have say.
